This 12-year-old single malt whisky comes from the Loch Lomond distillery, known for its flexibility and ability to produce various styles of whisky – from smooth and fresh to smoky and spicy.
This whisky matured in three types of oak casks: in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, which imparted delicate notes of vanilla and fruitiness; in refill ex-bourbon casks, which brought softness and depth; and in virgin oak casks, which added complexity and spicy notes.
The result is a whisky with a balanced flavor profile, combining fresh fruitiness with notes of oak, vanilla, and black pepper. It has a silky creamy texture, and the palate reveals notes of vanilla, orchard fruits, oak, and buttery biscuits. The finish is medium-long and pleasantly warming, ideal for lovers of classic Scotch single malts.
Bottled at 46% alcohol by volume. No chill filtration! The entire production process was overseen by the Master Blender of this distillery, Michael Henry.
The bottle comes in gift packaging.

The Deveron 12 Year Old is a Scottish single malt whisky from the Macduff distillery (Highlands), long known as Glen Deveron, which was renamed The Deveron in 2015. In the brand's portfolio, it represents a gently fruity, more accessible standard, ideal as an entry-level whisky into the world of single malts.
The Macduff distillery works with typical methods of Scottish single malt production - barley malt, water from local sources, and distillation in copper pot stills. After distillation, the whisky matures for 12 years in oak casks, primarily ex-bourbon and partially in ex-sherry casks, allowing for a balance between sweetness and a gentler complexity.
On the nose, The Deveron 12 opens with sweet baking spices, ginger, caramel, and apples in caramel. There are also notes of vanilla and gentle fruitiness (core fruits).
On the palate, butter, waxy malt, apple pie, and soft sweetness dominate. As the whisky “opens up,” chocolate notes and citrus peel emerge. The finish is medium-length, with woody spices, gentle oakiness, and a touch of vanilla.
It shines best neat, or with a hint of water, if you want to encourage the gentler notes. Due to its lighter, fruity character, it also suits a whisky highball or lighter cocktails. Pairing with an apple dessert, delicate cheesecake, or light cakes will highlight its fruity and caramel aspects.
GlenDronach 12 Year Old is a distinctive Highland single malt, aged exclusively in Spanish sherry casks of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez, making it a typical "sherry" expression.
Bottled at 43% ABV, with no added coloring, featuring a natural color and (in the past) without chill filtration.
The nose is dominated by dried fruits (raisins, figs), orange peels, caramelized sugar, spices like cinnamon and clove, a subtle nutty hint, and a touch of oak. In the background, delicate notes of ginger, roasted nuts, and creaminess emerge.
On the palate, the whisky is full, sweet with a strong sherry presence: fruity notes (raisins, dried plums), marzipan, orange jam, nougat, vanilla and gentle spices (ginger, black pepper). The finish is quite long and balanced, with echoes of dark chocolate, caramel, nuts and a spicy touch of pepper.
Best served neat, at room temperature - a few drops of water can help open up the fruity and spicy layers, but don't overdo it to maintain the intensity.
