Anise liqueurs

Anisé liqueurs are among the oldest and most popular herbal drinks in the world. They got their name from the dominant ingredient – ​​anise, which gives them a typical sweet taste with a refreshing spicy character. Thanks to their unmistakable profile, they have become a traditional part of Mediterranean and Oriental culture.

Among the most famous anise liqueurs are the French Pastis and Ricard, the Italian Sambuca, the Spanish Anís, or the Greek Ouzo. They are most often served with water and ice, while acquiring a characteristic milky haze – the so-called louche effect. This method of serving is not only visually attractive, but also highlights their delicate taste and aroma.

Anise liqueurs can be enjoyed on their own as an aperitif or digestif, but they are also excellent in mixed drinks. In many countries, they are a symbol of friendly gatherings, summer terraces and moments of relaxation.
