Ouzo Nektar Pilavas
Ouzo Nektar Pilavas is a smoother Greek anise liqueur (ouzo) produced by the family distillery Pilavas in Patras, established in 1940. It is a lower alcohol content version (38% vol.) and its name “Nektar” refers to its delicate, harmonious character — after distillation, it ages 2 to 3 months in stainless steel containers for balance.
The aroma is dominated by gentle sweet anise, supported by herbal notes, citrus accents, and a touch of sweet fennel. The base is a pure alcoholic foundation, softened by the production process, allowing the botanical details to shine.
On the palate, the liqueur reveals a smooth combination of anise and fennel, with hints of sweetness, subtle spices, and light herbal notes. The taste is approachable, without pronounced aggressiveness, suitable even for those who do not seek extremely strong liqueurs.
We recommend serving it ideally neat, well chilled, or with ice or a splash of cold water. When water is added, the typical “louching” effect (cloudiness) appears. This ouzo is suitable as an aperitif and also pairs well with traditional Greek “meze” (olives, cheeses, seafood).
