Ouzo Nektar Pilavas
Ouzo Nektar Pilavas is a milder Greek aniseed liqueur (ouzo) produced by the family distillery Pilavas in Patras, founded in 1940. It is a version with a lower alcohol content (38 % ABV) and its name "Nektar" refers to its smooth, harmonious character - after distillation, it is aged for 2 to 3 months in stainless steel containers for balance.
The aroma is dominated by a delicate sweet anise, supported by herbal notes, citrus accents, and a touch of sweet fennel. The base is a pure alcoholic base, which is softened by the production process, allowing the botanical details to stand out.
The taste liquer is a smooth combination of anise and fennel, with hints of sweetness, delicate spices, and light herbal notes. The taste is accessible, without any significant aggressiveness, suitable even for those who do not seek extremely strong liqueurs.
We recommend serving it neat, well chilled, or with ice or a little cold water. When water is added, a typical "louching" effect (cloudiness) appears. This ouzo is suitable as an aperitif and also goes well with traditional Greek "meze" (olives, cheeses, seafood).
