Laphroaig (pronounced La-FROYg) is one of the most famous Scottish single malt whiskies from the island of Islay. The distillery was founded in 1810 by brothers Donald and Alexander Johnston at the southern tip of the island, where whisky with an unmistakable peaty character is still produced today.

Laphroaig whisky is renowned for its smoky, medicinal, and iodine aroma, shaped by peat rich in seaweed and salt.

A portion of the malt is still dried right at the distillery in a peat-fired kiln – a process that preserves its authentic, raw origin.
