Luxardo

The history of the Luxardo brand dates back to 1821, when Girolamo Luxardo founded a distillery in the city of Zadar (today Croatia, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire), which became famous for the world-renowned Maraschino liqueur made from marasca cherries. After World War II the family’s property was confiscated and the company nationalised. In 1947, Giorgio Luxardo together with the fifth generation Nicolò III rebuilt the distillery in Torreglia, near Padua in Italy. Thanks to strong family unity, Luxardo quickly recovered and its liqueurs once again began to be exported worldwide.

Today, Luxardo is one of the few European distilleries still owned by the same family, with the seventh generation continuing the founder’s legacy. The brand is among the most prestigious Italian producers and exports its products to more than 100 countries. Its range includes the iconic Luxardo Maraschino and the popular Luxardo Limoncello, an authentic Italian liqueur made from macerated lemon peels.
