It is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that produces remarkably diverse whisky styles within a single site – from light and fruity profiles to more robust and gently peated expressions.

The History of Loch Lomond

The Loch Lomond distillery was founded in the 1960s by the Littlemill Distillery Company Ltd., continuing the legacy of the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland – Littlemill. Part of its ownership later passed to the American company Barton Brands. Over the years, Loch Lomond has built a reputation as one of the most innovative whisky producers.

Loch Lomond is exceptional in its use of multiple types of stills, including its signature straight neck stills. These stills have an extended neck that allows for precise control over distillation, enabling the creation of spirits with different textures and intensities. This versatility makes Loch Lomond one of the most flexible whisky distilleries in Scotland.

The annual production of Loch Lomond is approximately 10 million litres of grain whisky and around 2.5 million litres of single malt whisky.
