Glengoyne 21 Year Old is an iconic Scottish single malt whisky, aged exclusively in hand-selected sherry casks for 21 years. This aging process in European oak casks gives the whisky a rich and complex structure, reflecting subtle influences of fruit, spices, and oak wood.
Glengoyne distills the slowest of all whisky distilleries in Scotland (approximately 5 liters per minute), which promotes the formation of esters and contributes to the sweet, smooth structure of the final whisky. The process is peat-free – the barley is dried with warm air, not smoke, allowing for a clean taste without any peat notes.
It is matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks (mainly Oloroso, sometimes Pedro Ximénez, made from European oak), which reflects its complex fruity and spicy character.
