Aged 14 years in American oak bourbon casks, followed by three years in Matusalem casks, and in the final year in sherry casks. Dalmore 18 Year Old single malt whisky from the Highland region is rich, fruity, and spicy. It was created by Richard Paterson, the master distiller of this distillery.
It ages for 14 years in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, then it is finished in casks that held 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry, which are among the rarest casks in the world and are available exclusively for Dalmore.
The aroma is opulent, full of fruity notes, vanilla, oak, cocoa, and citrus. The palate is dominated by notes of black pepper, ginger, clove, orange peel, and berries. The finish is medium-long and smooth, with hints of black pepper, caramel, oak, stewed fruit, and cocoa.
Whisky is bottled at 43% ABV, has been color adjusted, and is likely cold filtered.
