15-Year-Old single malt whisky Dalmore was first launched in 2007 and embodies the production style of this distillery.
The whisky first matures in American ex-bourbon casks and is later finished in three types of ex-sherry casks, specifically sherry type Matusalem (30-year-old Oloroso sherry), Amoroso (a mix of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry), and Apostoles (a mix of Palo Cortado and Pedro Ximenez sherry).
Each of these casks imparts whisky its distinctive characteristics and flavors, complementing the base notes of vanilla and honey from the American bourbon casks.
The aroma reveals rich notes of sherry, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and citrus. The palate is dominated by notes of caramel, citrus, spice, oak, ginger, raisins, and dried fruit. The finish is medium-long and slightly bitter. It features bitter chocolate, candied fruit, oak, spice, and a hint of hazelnut.
The whisky was bottled at 40% alcohol content and was also colored and cold-filtered.
