Dalmore 15 Year Old
Pronunciation: {Dalmór}The 15-year-old Dalmore whisky was first launched in 2007 and embodies the distillery's production style.
The whisky is first matured in American ex-bourbon casks and then finished in three types of ex-sherry casks, namely Matusalem (30-year-old Oloroso sherry), Amoroso (a blend of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry) and Apostoles (a blend of Palo Cortado and Pedro Ximenez sherry).
Each of these casks has imparted its own characteristic properties and flavors to the whisky, complementing the basic notes of vanilla and honey from the American bourbon casks.
The aroma features rich notes of sherry, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and citrus. The taste is dominated by notes of caramel, citrus, spice, oak, ginger, raisins and dried fruit. The finish is medium-long and bitter. It features dark chocolate, candied fruit, oak, spice, and a hint of hazelnut.
The whiskey was bottled at 40 % ABV and was also colored and cold-filtered.
