Aberfeldy 16 Year Old is a premium single malt whisky from the Scottish Highland region, classified among the expressions with greater depth in the Aberfeldy portfolio. It officially belongs to the “Last Great Malts,” which emphasize maturity and cask structures.
During production, the whisky undergoes a classic Scottish single malt distillation process – malted barley, water from local sources, and distillation in copper pot stills.
After this phase, it matures in a combination of casks: first in first-fill (first-fill), refill (refill) and ex-bourbon casks, and then during the last six months it is finished in select Oloroso sherry casks.
On the nose, it reveals a sweet and fruity character - raisins, dried fruit, honey, with hints of citrus freshness and spicy accents like cinnamon and clove.
On the palate, it opens gently - apple, pear, caramel, and honey, gradually adding dark fruit, dark chocolate, hints of coffee and subtle spice.
The finish is medium-long, emphasizing honey sweetness, oak notes, a delicate structure, and a hint of spice or gentle woodiness.
The Aberfeldy 16 whisky is bottled at 40% ABV.
