Deanston 12 Year Old is a classic single malt from the Scottish Highlands, made from non-peated barley and aged 12 years in bourbon casks.
The Deanston distillery, located in the buildings of a former textile factory on the banks of the River Teith, maintains traditional methods and produces whisky without chill filtration and added color. It is bottled at 46.3% ABV, which gives it fullness and a natural structure.
On the nose, Deanston 12 opens with notes of fresh hay, grains, creamy caramel, and heather honey, complemented by hints of vanilla, citrus peel, and green apple.
The palate is creamy, with pronounced accents of vanilla, honey, and sweet grains, which combine with subtle spices, orange peel, and caramelized sugar. The finish is medium-long, with citrus freshness, gentle clove, and elegant woody notes.
Deanston 12 Year Old is an ideal whisky to sip neat, but a few drops of water can open up additional layers of its aroma and flavor. Due to its balance, it is suitable not only for connoisseurs but also for those who are just getting acquainted with the world of single malts.
