Herradura Añejo
Herradura Añejo is one of the true legends in the world of tequila. Casa Herradura, founded back in 1870, was one of the first distilleries to introduce the Añejo category to the market, and it is still considered its pioneer. Herradura Añejo tequila ages for at least 25 months in American white oak barrels, which is 13 months longer than the standard requirements. This extended process gives the spirit exceptional depth, elegance, and complexity, setting it apart from ordinary añejo tequilas.
An interesting fact is that Hacienda San José del Refugio, the home of Herradura, is one of the last traditional distilleries still producing tequila right in the heart of the Amatitán region in Jalisco, with a strong focus on authentic methods and preserving the quality of agave.
