Don Julio 1942 Añejo
Thomas Henry Grapefruit pairs perfectly with this product. Mix yourself one of the world’s most famous cocktails – the refreshing Paloma.
Don Julio Añejo 1942 is made from carefully selected hand-harvested blue agave piñas that grow for 7 - 10 years. Don Julio 1942 Añejo was introduced in 2002 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the distillery Don Julio González-Frausto Estrada.
The agave is slowly baked for approximately 70 hours in brick ovens, then fermented in stainless steel tanks with its own yeast and double distilled in small copper pot stills. Subsequently, the tequila ages for at least 30 months in American white oak barrels previously used for beer or bourbon, which gives it a warm vanilla-caramel profile.
Don Julio 1942 is celebrated as a luxury tequila, often used as an exclusive gift or for special occasions.
However, the brand is a subject of discussion among connoisseurs – frequent comments point to a distinctly sweet profile, and there is a presumption that it contains additives to enhance sweetness and consistency (e.g., glycerin, vanilla extracts, sweeteners), which some consider a factor affecting the "masking" of the agave flavor. Nevertheless, many appreciate its consistent quality and smoothness.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 38% with a volume of 0.7 l and are delivered in gift boxes.
