Don Julio Reposado
Pronunciation: {Don Chulio Reposado}The distinctive and highly individual tequila Don Julio Reposado immediately shows its respect for tradition. It is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, hand-grown on high-altitude plantations in Jalisco, double distilled and then slowly aged in small oak barrels.
The agave piñas are slowly baked in brick ovens, then fermented with yeast, distilled in stainless steel stills with copper coils, and finally aged in small American oak barrels for eight months.
This ageing period is longer than that of typical reposado tequilas (the standard is around two months), allowing for a subtle development of vanilla, caramel and fruity notes in the spirit.
The aroma reveals notes of apples, pears and citrus fruits. The palate is smooth and elegant, with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon. A natural agave sweetness forms the base, supported by oak ageing. The finish is warm, offering notes of dried fruit, nuts and caramelised apple. Medium to long in length, with a very gentle alcoholic finish. An approachable reposado suitable for both connoisseurs and newcomers.
It surprises from the first sip with its lightness and subtle spicy sweetness. Excellent neat or served over ice.
