Don Julio Reposado
The distinctive Don Julio Reposado tequila is immediately recognizable as being made with a love of tradition. It is produced from 100 % blue Weber agave, grown by hand on high-altitude plantations in Jalisco, and distilled twice, followed by slow aging in small oak barrels.
The piñas are slowly baked in brick ovens, then fermented with yeast, distilled in steel tanks with copper coils, and then aged in small American oak barrels for eight months.
The barrel aging is longer than for regular reposado (the standard is 2 months), which allows for a subtle enhancement of vanilla, caramel and fruity notes in the drink.
It has a beautiful aroma of apples, pears and citrus fruits. The taste is smooth and elegant with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon. The base is formed by the agave-derived sweetness, supported by oak aging.
The finish is warm, with notes of dried fruit, nuts and caramelized apple. The finish is medium to long, with a very subtle alcoholic finish. This is a pleasant reposado suitable for connoisseurs and beginners alike.
The first sip surprises with its lightness and spicy sweetness. Amazing with ice or neat.
The bottles are filled with 38 % alcohol and have a volume of 0,7 l.
