El Jimador Reposado
El Jimador Reposado starts with 100% hand-harvested blue Weber agave, naturally fermented and double distilled. It rests for 2 months in handcrafted barrels made of American oak until the perfect moment. This gives it an excellent golden tone, warm and smooth flavor.
It is named in honor of “jimadores” – the farmers who hand-harvest agave, while the El Jimador brand belongs to the renowned distillery Casa Herradura, known for its focus on traditional production.
In aroma, El Jimador Reposado is pleasantly warm and balanced. Dominant notes of roasted agave blend with subtle vanilla, a hint of caramel, spices, and a touch of fruity undertone. On the nose, it feels harmonious and slightly sweet, yet with an authentic character typical of tequila that retains the naturalness and purity of its ingredients.
Flavor-wise, it is smooth and medium-bodied. On the palate, it develops a pleasant sweetness of caramel and vanilla, followed by gentle spices, nutty notes, and a delicate agave finish. The oak notes are subtle and do not overshadow the plant character of the agave, but rather elegantly complement it.
The finish is clean, slightly spicy, and longer than one would expect from a younger reposado tequila – it feels warm, yet without unnecessary sharpness. Thanks to its fresh, yet balanced flavor, El Jimador Reposado is an ideal choice for sipping or mixing – it pairs excellently in a Paloma, Margarita, or simply on the rocks with a slice of lime.
