Kilchoman Machir Bay is an excellent and, above all, high-quality Scottish single malt whisky from the Islay region. The Kilchoman distillery was opened in 2005 and is (so far) the second youngest distillery in the region. This bottling was named Machir Bay after a small but very beautiful beach on the island of Islay.
The whisky has been aged for approximately 6 years, with most of the distillate aged in first- and second-fill ex-bourbon casks, while a portion (approximately 10 %) of the distillate has been aged in first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in a wonderfully balanced flavor profile.
It has a fantastically pleasant aroma with notes of vanilla biscuits, orchard fruit, and warm peat smoke. On the palate, this whisky is silky smooth and rounded, with notes of earthy peat, lemon juice, oak, vanilla, and a hint of tart forest fruit.
It was bottled at 46 % alcohol strength, without coloring or chill filtration.
We recommend serving it with a drop of water, but it tastes best neat at room temperature. It comes in a very nice blue and gold gift box.

Talisker 10 is the flagship of the distillery located on the rugged, wind- and wave-battered Isle of Skye. It is the oldest distillery on the island, founded in 1830. It is known for its unmistakable style, combining the character of the sea coast and smoky peat.
This whisky has been aged for at least 10 years in American bourbon barrels, giving it a slightly sweet tone that balances its distinctive island character.
The aroma is intensely sea salt, malt, wet wood, and black pepper, complemented by earthy notes of peat, lemon, and vanilla. The taste of the whiskey is intense and spicy, full of notes of peat, honey, citrus peel, sea salt, and dried fruit. The finish is long and warm, with notes of peat, sea salt, black pepper, and oak.
It is bottled at 45,8 % alcohol. It is colored and probably cold filtered.
