Kilchoman 100 % Islay Sherry Cask Matured 11 Year Old

This whisky, Kilchoman 100 % Islay Sherry Cask Matured 11 Year Old, is part of the distillery’s 100 % Islay portfolio and is produced from barley grown entirely on the island of Islay between 2011 and 2013.

The whisky matured for a minimum of 11 years in sixteen first-fill Oloroso sherry casks sourced from José y Miguel Martín in Jerez, Spain.

On the nose, it reveals rich aromas of dark fruits, dried fruit, spices, and a lightly meaty peatiness, resulting from the combination of sherry casks and Kilchoman’s signature Islay character.

The palate shows a complex texture – peat smoke, dark chocolate, honey, stewed apples, and a malty backbone, while the finish is long with notes of grilled fruits, plums, blackcurrants, and a persistent woody-smoky undertone.
