Kilchoman Cognac Cask Matured

Kilchoman Cognac Cask Matured is a limited Islay single malt Scotch whisky, showcasing the significant influence of cognac casks on Kilchoman's traditional peaty character. This is not a finish – the whisky spent its entire maturation in ex-Cognac casks, giving it a deeper, fruitier, and subtly spicy profile.

The 2026 edition was created by combining 24 barrique casks and 8 hogshead casks, distilled in 2019. The French oak casks have a firmer wood structure that supports more complex maturation, adding delicate tannins, warming spices, and complementing notes of toasted nuts, caramel, and juicy stone fruits.

The aroma reveals ripe pears and apples, peaty smoke, honeyed sweetness, toasted nuts, and baking spices. The taste is buttery and full, with waves of baked fruits, smoked meat, and a sweet-salty expression. The finish is drier, smoky, while still retaining a pleasant sweetness.
