Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2025
Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2025 – a 10-year-old whisky matured exclusively in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Kilchoman distillery on the island of Islay. The drink is named after the largest freshwater lake Loch Gorm near the distillery, which is known for its dark, peat-coloured water – the colour of the whisky reflects its deep copper-burgundy tone.
Founders Anthony and Robin Wills selected 23 Oloroso sherry casks (20 first-fill and 3 second-fill) in which the whisky matured for at least 10 years (distilled around 2014–2015).
After traditional double distillation, maturation takes place exclusively in these sherry casks from the José Miguel Martín bodega, without the addition of colouring or chill filtration. The final product is bottled at 46 % ABV.
Kilchoman is a distillery where barley is grown, malted and distilled on site – since 2005, it has been committed to a ‘grain-to-glass’ philosophy. Loch Gorm is their popular annual limited edition, known for its rich sherry flavour, characteristic smokiness and sparkling citrus refreshment – each year's batch varies slightly, but always retains the brand's identity.
