Bruichladdich Bere Barley 10 Year Old 2013
Pronunciation: {Brujchladych}Whisky Bruichladdich Bere Barley is distilled entirely from Bere barley, an ancient Scottish barley grown on several local farms in Orkney and Islay. It was an experimental edition from 2013, followed by 10 years of maturation in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks (80 %) and second-fill Pauillac wine casks (20 %).
The nose reveals a delicate sweetness – apple, lemon sweets and peach sorbet, accompanied by a floury undertone, fresh bread and herbs.
A fruity mix opens up on the palate: pear, melon, pink grapefruit, citrus peel, complemented by rye bread, vanilla, white pepper and honey nuances. The finish is long, with a lingering taste of citrus, honey and oak spices.
For the best experience, enjoy this whisky neat at room temperature to allow its deep, rich flavour and terroir to unfold. A few drops of water can awaken the fruity, herbal and mineral elements. Ideal for themed tastings or as a collector's item that captures the spirit of Islay in a glass.
The bottles are filled with 50 % alcohol and have a volume of 0,7 l.
