Whisky Bruichladdich Organic Barley 16 Year Old is distilled from 100% Scottish barley – including organic barley – in traditional pot stills.
It then matures for 16 years in ex-bourbon casks on Islay, providing it with a long-lasting contact with oak and time to develop complex flavor layers. The process is strictly natural: no coloring, no chill filtration.
The aroma reveals a captivating combination of honey, floral notes (e.g., eucalyptus and menthol), sweet grains, and a hint of sea minerality.
On the palate, layers of ginger, spice, red berries, salty sea, and sharp American oak unfold, delivering an intense yet elegant experience. The finish is notably long, with a sweet honey warmth and a chocolate-oak conclusion.
This whisky is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water in a Glencairn glass, allowing you to explore the complexity of the aromas.
Bottles are filled with a high alcohol content of up to 50% with a volume of 0.7 l.
