The distillery was founded in 1881 and, after several ownership changes and periods of inactivity, was revived in 2001 with the aim of returning to traditional production methods.

The brand's range includes various editions, such as the iconic Bruichladdich Classic Laddie, Octomore – considered one of the peatiest whiskies in the world, and Port Charlotte, which offers an intense peaty flavor.
