The single malt is named after Loch Finlaggan, which is located on the island of Islay. Many centuries ago, Scotland was ruled by the Lord of the Isles from Finlaggan Castle.

The taste of the whisky is rich, sweet, and smoky. There are also notes of iodine, lemon peel with a beautiful oiliness in the mouth.

Finlaggan was the first brand for Vintage Malt Whisky Company Ltd, which focuses on bottled whiskies from the Highlands and Islands. The brand was designed to embody the spirit of Islay and is named after the lake on the northern side of the island, west of Port Askaig. It is produced in three core expressions: Old Reserve, Eilean Mor, and Cask Strength.

Bottles have a volume of 0.7 l and are delivered in stylish gift cartons.
