Glencadam Reserva de Porto Tawny Cask Finish is a distinctive single malt whisky from the traditional Scottish distillery Glencadam in the East Highlands region. This edition is produced in small batches under the supervision of the Master Distiller, with a base of distillate aged in American oak barrels previously used for bourbon.
It is then finished in carefully selected Tawny Port wine barrels from Portugal. This process imparts a rich, sweet-fruity character with deep notes of berry fruit, caramel, and subtle spices.
The aroma is dominated by intense notes of dark fruit, candied spices, and sweet wood, complemented by blackcurrants and roasted spices. The taste is full and layered, with tones of blackberries, currant jam, caramel, and cherries, transitioning into dessert notes of plum cake and gentle woody spices.
The finish is long and warming, with hints of nuts, golden syrup, and sponge cake, rounded off with delicate woody notes.
The whisky is unchillfiltered and free from added colorings, preserving its natural character. Bottled at 46% alcohol, it offers a full and harmonious tasting experience.
