Bunnahabhain 21 Year Old Cask Strength
Pronunciation: {Bu-na-haven}Bunnahabhain 21 Year Old Cask Strength Edition 2025 is where Jerez meets Islay. It represents a remarkable union of two time-honoured traditions – the rich sherry heritage of southern Spain and the robust, coastal character of one of Islay’s most remote distilleries.
This limited edition pays tribute to craftsmanship, patience, and place. From the chalky soils of Jerez to the salt-laden air of Bunnahabhain Bay, this whisky is not merely the result of maturation, but a dialogue between Spain and Scotland, sweetness and salinity, strength and balance.
At its core lies Bunnahabhain’s robust, oily spirit, initially matured in Oloroso sherry casks, where it developed depth, structure, and its distinctive coastal character.
Its true distinction emerges in the second phase. Over 21 months of additional maturation, the whisky was finished in 21 hand-selected Pedro Ximénez casks. A bold yet precisely controlled decision, allowing the syrupy sweetness of PX to integrate seamlessly with the spirit, without overpowering its natural character.
The result is a harmonious single malt whisky, where rich sherry influence meets the unmistakable soul of Islay. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.1 %, without compromise.
