The Balvenie 12 Year Old Sweet Toast of American Oak
A Scottish single malt whisky from The Balvenie Stories collection, created by malt master Kelsey McKechnie. The Balvenie Sweet Toast of American Oak first matures for 12 years in traditional ex-bourbon casks, followed by several months of finishing in new American oak barrels from Kentucky. These casks are intensely toasted twice – first in Kentucky and then again at The Balvenie distillery.
On the nose, sweet aromas of caramel, marzipan, vanilla, and candied fruit appear, complemented by spicy notes of clove and cinnamon. The palate is smooth and creamy, opening with candied orange and lemon peel, vanilla caramel, and buttery honey, which gradually deepen into layers of brown sugar, hazelnuts, and warming oak spice.
Best enjoyed neat at room temperature, as its harmonious profile needs nothing extra. If you wish to highlight the fruity and spicy nuances of this Speyside whisky, a few drops of water will do the trick. A refined and elegant dram for moments of relaxation, as well as an excellent gift.
Bottled at 43% ABV in a 0.7 l format and supplied in gift tubes.
