The Balvenie 18 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Cask

This limited edition single malt whisky, Balvenie 18 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Cask, was created at The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown (Speyside), founded in 1892. The whisky matured for 18 years in American oak bourbon casks, which impart gentle notes of vanilla, honey, and sweetness. It was then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, adding a deep, syrupy sweetness with hints of dried fruit.

On the nose, you are greeted by ripe dates, figs, honey, lavender, mandarins, and a gentle touch of clove – the result of a perfect balance between the bourbon base and the PX finish. The palate is full and luscious, offering flavours of caramel, sweet molasses, and a pinch of spice, followed by a warming finish of dried fruit, caramel, molasses, and black pepper.

It is best enjoyed neat at room temperature, allowing its rich fruity and spicy profile to fully unfold. A few drops of water may enhance the honeyed and floral notes. This whisky is ideal as an elegant digestif or a gift for whisky connoisseurs.

Bottled at 48.7% ABV in a 0.7 l format and supplied in gift tubes.
