This fortified wine (similar to Pedro Ximénez sherry, yet with its own distinctive terroir identity) brings pronounced sweetness, raisin depth, and an elegant wine influence to the whisky.

The whisky first matured in classic American oak ex-bourbon casks, providing The Balvenie’s signature honeyed and vanilla-driven base. It was then transferred to specially prepared Montilla Wine Seasoned Casks, where it developed intense fruity layers.

On the nose, notes of honey, raisins, vanilla, almonds, gentle spice, and freshly cut oak appear. The palate is full and smooth, revealing sweet Montilla wine, creamy honey, raisins, citrus peel, nuts, soft cinnamon, and mellow oak spice. The finish is long and harmonious, with lingering notes of dried fruit, wine, honey, and gentle spice.
