Planteray Barbados 5y (formerly Plantation) is a traditional rum from Barbados, considered the cradle of rum culture. It features a clean, balanced character and an elegant expression typical of this Caribbean island.
The rum ages for at least 5 years in the tropical climate of Barbados in American oak barrels. It then undergoes a process known as double aging, which imparts smoothness, complexity, and a harmonious structure.
The aroma reveals notes of vanilla, caramel, tropical fruit, and subtle wood. The taste is smooth, slightly sweet, with hints of banana, dried fruit, and oak spice. The finish is pleasantly drier and clean.
Planteray Barbados 5 is suitable for enjoying neat, on the rocks, but also works excellently in classic rum cocktails, such as Daiquiri or Rum Old Fashioned.
The rum is bottled at an alcohol content of 40% vol. in a volume of 0.7 l. It represents an ideal choice for those seeking an authentic Barbadian rum with an excellent quality-to-price ratio.
