Description
Mount Gay Black Barrel is a rich, complex, yet smooth and rounded rum from the Caribbean island of Barbados. Its base is a blend of intense and aromatic rums that have been distilled using traditional column distillation, such as double retort distillation in copper pot stills. These rums first aged in American whiskey barrels and then, after blending, underwent a final maturation in intensely charred bourbon barrels.
Aroma: woody and buttery notes balanced by dried fruit and spices
Taste: bold and aromatic with notes of gingerbread, lychee, and caramel
Finish: warming rum with a medium body and a long finish
