Planteray Xaymaca is an exceptional Jamaican rum born from the passion to rediscover the island’s authentic rum culture.
The name “Xaymaca” comes from the original Arawak word for Jamaica, and this rum embodies the tradition of 100% pot-still distillation from the Long Pond Distillery and Clarendon Distillery.
After an initial aging of 1 to 3 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks under Jamaica’s tropical climate, the rum undergoes a second maturation in France in ex-Cognac barrels.
On the nose, it delivers the rich and distinctive “funky” character typical of Jamaican pot-still rums - ripe bananas, flambéed pineapple, beeswax, tropical fruit, and a subtle smoky note.
The palate is drier than many Caribbean rums, showcasing a bold ester profile: bananas, roasted pineapple, vanilla, ginger, oak, a hint of salinity, and a mineral undertone. The finish is medium to long, dry, and spicy, with lingering notes of banana, coffee, and cane ash.
This rum is best enjoyed neat, over ice, or with a few drops of water — a perfect choice for those who appreciate a bold, complex, and authentic Jamaican rum at a refined strength of 43 % ABV.
