Planteray Xaymaca is an exceptional Jamaican rum born from the pleasure of exploring the authentic rum culture of the island of Jamaica.
The name “Xaymaca” evokes the original name of Jamaica from the Arawaks and this rum embodies the tradition of 100% pot-still distillation from Long Pond Distillery and Clarendon Distillery.
After primary aging 1 to 3 years in American oak bourbon barrels in the tropical climate of Jamaica, the rum undergoes secondary aging in France in cognac barrels.
The aroma is dominated by a rich “funky” profile typical of Jamaican pot still rums — ripe bananas, flambéed pineapple, beeswax, tropical fruits, and a subtle smoky note.
The taste is drier than many Caribbean rums, with a pronounced ester character: bananas, roasted pineapple, vanilla, ginger, oak, a gentle saltiness, and a mineral undertone. The finish is medium to long, dry, spicy, with echoes of banana, coffee, and sugarcane ash.
This rum is ideal for sipping neat, on the rocks, or with a few drops of water – recommended for those seeking a bold, complex, and authentic Jamaican rum at a compact strength of 43% ABV.
