Botran Añejo 12 is an añejo rum from Guatemala. It matures in a solera system and combines notes of sweet vanilla, caramel, and oranges, with nuts in the finish.
The story of this rum began with five brothers who love rum. They embarked on a journey that opened their eyes, from sunny Spain to beautiful Guatemala. And in 1940 they founded Botran. Rum with a unique approach.
A rum as vibrant as sugarcane juice and as colorful as the land it comes from. This helped the rum become the first sustainably produced rum in the world.
The producers grow, ferment, and distill the cane in the green fields of Retalhuleu.
Then the rums mature in the mountains of Quetzaltenango in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry white oak barrels, which provide ideal conditions for the unique dynamic aging system to shine.
Finally, the rums are bottled in the city of Mixco near Guatemala City, creating a rum that is a true product of Guatemala.
At an altitude of 2,300 m above sea level, life looks different. The rums age in Casa Botran in the highlands of Quetzaltenango at an average temperature of 14 °C.
Bottles are filled with a volume of 0.7 l with an alcohol content of 40 % and are delivered in gift cartons.
