Botran

Botran is a range of rums from Guatemala distilled by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, the same distillery that produces the Zacapa range of rums.

The Botran family is commonly known for sugar cane production in Guatemala, but in 1939 they decided to start the journey by founding Industria Licorera Quetzalteca. The five brothers agreed that Quetzaltenango was the ultimate place to age rum in Guatemala.

From that day on, they have been involved in all the details of rum production. Although the care process has evolved, it all started with a care process called "Sistema Solera". This process involves the integration of young and old rums as they age for years in white oak barrels. They are the first family to produce Guatemalan rum, and now continue to produce one of the world's finest rums. The high-quality Solera 1893 and Reserva rums have won many global awards for their complexity, depth and distinctive sweet flavor.
