Exclusive and extra old rum Planteray PXXO 20th Anniversary pays tribute to the rich tradition of rum production in Barbados.
The rum first matures in American white oak barrels and ex-bourbon casks in the tropical climate of Barbados, then it is transferred to France, where it ages in ex-Ferrand barrels, and finally finished in Pedro Ximénez casks from Andalusia. This last step adds subtle notes of dried fruits and nuts, enriching its flavor profile.
The founder and master blender of Planteray Rum, Alexandre Gabriel, explains: "Planteray XO 20th Anniversary is beloved worldwide, and our decision to enrich it with Pedro Ximénez casks celebrates a centuries-old technique that enhances the rum's profile with unique, complementary flavors."
On the palate, the rum has a rich and velvety impression with notes of coconut, chocolate, pudding, and a gentle touch of coffee, grape juice, lemon, plums, almonds, cherries, ginger, and various spices.
