Planteray XO 20th Anniversary is a luxury rum created in honor of the 20th anniversary of Alexander Gabriel as the master blender at Planteray. It is the result of a masterful blend of Barbadian richness and French savoir-faire, resulting in an extraordinarily indulgent rum.
Planteray XO 20th Anniversary is a blend of carefully selected extra old rums from Barbados. First, they age in ex-bourbon barrels in Barbados for 8 to 15 years, then they are transported to southwestern France, where they mature in small French oak ex-cognac barrels for another 2 to 10 years. This traditional double aging process imparts incredible smoothness and complexity to the rum.
Tasting this rum reveals a sophisticated palette of flavors including chocolate, vanilla, ripe banana, toasted coconut and hints of fresh mango. The aroma is complex, with exotic notes of sugarcane, oak vanilla, and toasted coconut, enriched with aromas of cocoa, candied orange, and a hint of cigarette box. This rum has the color of old mahogany, indicating its long aging and rich flavor.
