Talisker Port Ruighe - damaged box

The second latest whiskey without specifying the length of maturation was launched very quickly after Talisker Storm in early 2013. Port Ruighe (pronounced Portree, as the largest city on the Isle of Skye) ends maturation in Port barrels after initial maturation in American and European oak barrels, as well as barrels that were specially deeply burned.

Aroma: After the initial wave of drops of sea water, the aroma becomes more complex with Crayola colors, orange pulp and a hint of white chocolate. Cane sugar and even leukoplast appear briefly along with hints of plum and liqueur.
Taste: The first characteristic is the Talisker infusion, but much sweeter than usual. Rough and envelops the mouth like a Storm with chili with a little chocolate with orange. More and more smoky, much smoky than the scent suggests.
Conclusion: Milk chocolate becomes cocoa with a hint of oak and mocha coffee, the slightest hint of orange pulp.
Summary: Along with the style of the distillery, there are similarities with Talisker Storm in a stronger, oily mouthfeel and wood smoke. Port Ruighe has acquired other characteristics from Port barrels, but it adds sweetness and various shades such as plum and chocolate.
