Talisker The Wild Blue
Pronunciation: {Taliskr}This limited edition Talisker whisky, called The Wild Blue, comes from the legendary Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye, founded in 1830. The whisky first matures in bourbon casks, then is finished for 16 months in South African red wine casks from the Atlantic coast, which is a first for the Talisker brand.
It is bottled at 48,2 % ABV, probably without cold filtration. However, the whisky is colored.
The aroma is dominated by intense smoke mixed with maritime tones such as dried seaweed and sea salt. We can also smell red fruits, such as dried cranberries and currants.
On the palate, the whisky is creamy and velvety, with notes of currants, figs, dried fruit, black pepper, and chili, which intertwine with salty sea smoke. This whisky is best enjoyed neat, at room temperature. However, a few drops of water will help to open up its sweeter notes and aromas.
This exceptional whisky is perfect for slow, meditative enjoyment. This is the best way to appreciate the combination of the sea, terroir and craftsmanship it represents. A contribution from each sale is also donated to the Blue Marine Foundation for the restoration of coastal habitats (biotopes).
