Set Naga Malacca + Tanduay Asian Rum Gold
Naga Malacca is an exotic spiced rum from Indonesia, inspired by the historic port of Malacca. It has an amber color and offers a rich tropical profile with subtle spicy notes – perfect on its own, on the rocks, or as a base for original summer cocktails.
The base is slow fermentation of molasses on rice yeast. The full-bodied blend is split: half is double distilled in traditional Indonesian pot stills, the other half in modern column stills.
The subsequent aging occurs in two steps – first in barrels made of Indonesian teak (a hardwood from Southeast Asia), then in barrels of American white oak used for bourbon.
On the nose, citrus notes of clementines emerge, subtly complemented by spices like clove, black pepper, and nutmeg. On the palate, tropical fruit dominates – kumquat, lime, and clementine, intertwining with ginger, nutmeg, and lemongrass. The finish is long-lasting with a gentle hint of apple and fresh spice.
The name “Naga” (dragon) refers to Asian mythology and the trade roots of the region. The production tradition draws from the long history of Batavian arrack – the precursor to spirits in Indonesia. Malacca, once a key port for the export of exotic spices, gave the rum its characteristic aromatic profile and exotic identity.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 40% with a volume of 0.7 l.
Tanduay Asian Rum Gold is a true testament that excellent rum doesn't have to come from the Caribbean. This Filipino treasure has become the best-selling rum in the world – for the third year in a row, which only confirms its quality and global popularity.
Tanduay Rum boasts over 160 years of tradition and mastery. The Gold edition ages for up to 7 years in carefully selected oak barrels, giving it an elegant golden hue and rich flavor. The aroma features subtle vanilla, honey, caramel, and tropical fruits, beautifully intertwined with hints of spice and oak.
This dark rum is exceptionally balanced and smooth, perfect for sipping slowly, but it also shines in cocktails. Its exotic character and Asian origin make it a perfect choice for those looking to discover something new and exceptional beyond the usual rum paths.
