Naga Full Proof is a cask-strength version of Thai rum Naga Siam, bottled directly at cask strength – 60,1 % ABV – without dilution. A limited edition from 2012, matured in the tropical conditions of Java, it offers a strong and complex taste experience for discerning connoisseurs.
The rum is distilled in 2012 from molasses using continuous column distillation and then aged for approximately 10 – 11 years in ex-bourbon casks under the influence of the tropical climate.
Before bottling, it is left at full strength – without adding water – which emphasises its original intensity and uniqueness.
The aroma is dominated by toasted coconut, vanilla, dark chocolate, dried fruit, coffee and black pepper. The palate reveals sweet banana, toffee, nutmeg and pineapple, which blend with spicier cinnamon and pungent black pepper. The alcohol strength is well integrated, creating a balance between intensity and smoothness in the flavour profile.
Naga rum is based on the tradition of Batavia arrack, distilled as early as the 15th – 17th centuries, which spread throughout Java – ‘arrack’ means spirit and was created through the fusion of European colonists and indigenous production. A limited edition of 3,253 numbered bottles emphasises the exclusivity and unique terroir driven by the tropical jungle climate.
