Exotic treasure from Asia – 12-Year-Old Naga Siam Edition Rum combines Thai sugar cane, a precise production process, and long aging in ex-bourbon barrels that highlight its unique character.
Naga Siam Edition begins with the fermentation of molasses from Thai cane, which is then distilled in a 5-stage column distillation. The distillate travels to small 200 l American oak bourbon barrels, where it ages in a tropical underground warehouse. Thanks to the “angel's share” of 7–9% per year, it gains concentration and depth of aroma.
The rum offers notes of tropical fruit on the nose – banana, pineapple, complemented by caramel, vanilla, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is full, smooth, and spicy, with touches of chocolate, oak, honey, and tobacco. The long finish appeals with roasted and spicy nuances.
The name “Naga” refers to the mythological Asian beast - guardian of treasures. It respects the tradition of arrack production (Batavia arrack), brought by Chinese immigrants to Java as early as the 15th century – thus, the rum embodies over 500 years of cultural and distilling heritage of South Asia.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 43% with a volume of 0.7 l.
