An exotic treasure from Asia, the 12-year-old Naga Siam Edition rum combines Thai sugar cane, a precise production process and long ageing in ex-bourbon casks, which underline its distinctive character.
Naga Siam Edition begins with the fermentation of Thai cane molasses, which is then distilled in a five-stage column distillation process. The distillate is transferred to small 200-litre American oak bourbon barrels, where it matures in a tropical underground warehouse. Thanks to the ‘angel's tax’ of 7 - 9 % per year, it acquires concentration and depth of aroma.
The rum offers tropical fruit notes on the nose – banana, pineapple, complemented by caramel, vanilla and subtle spices. On the palate, it is full, smooth and spicy, with hints of chocolate, oak, honey and tobacco. The long finish appeals with roasted and spicy nuances.
The name ‘Naga’ refers to a mythological Asian beast - the guardian of treasures. It respects the tradition of arrack production (Batavia arrack), which was brought to Java by Chinese immigrants in the 15th century – the rum thus embodies over 500 years of cultural and distilling heritage in South Asia.
The bottles are filled with 43 % alcohol and have a volume of 0,7 l.
