Chateau Rúbaň Dunaj 2017 - raisined grape selection

Slovak quality wine with the designation cibébový výber, wine with a protected designation of origin, red, sweet. Variety Dunaj, vintage 2017, South Slovak Wine Region - Strekov.

Hand-picked grapes at full ripeness, affected by noble rot botrytis cinerea persoon, which significantly aided in the evaporation of water from the berries and the concentration of high sugar content through the gentle disruption of the grape skins. This noble rot also imparted unique taste and aromatic properties to the wine, significantly enhancing the complexity of the final product. Fermentation took place very slowly and gradually, while a large amount of natural residual sugar remained in the wine. After pressing, the wine aged in small oak barrels.

The wine is dark red in color with a garnet-purple rim, with a noticeable cibébový character and aroma of overripe fruit. The aroma is dominated by notes of dried plums, dried dates, overripe cherries, and nuances of exotic spices, with a pleasant touch of vanillin-cocoa tones. The taste is exceptionally complex and rich in natural sugars, dried stone fruits with well-integrated ripe tannins.

We recommend serving after decanting at a temperature of 15 - 17 °C. Bottle aging is 10 - 12 years.
