Bruichladdich Octomore 14.3 214.2ppm
Octomore 14.3 from the distillery Bruichladdich is a testament to the extraordinary effort to achieve flavor by combining very heavy peat with variable local harvest from its island home.
The Islay barley used in Octomore 14.3, grown just 2 miles from the distillery on the Octomore farm, brings a grain single malt - celebrating the deep influence of natural, raw ingredients and the renaissance of the agricultural community that cultivated it.
Master distiller Adam Hannett has masterfully extracted flavor from Islay barley in this high-quality single malt whisky. Aging in a combination of first-fill American whiskey casks and second-fill wine casks influences the oak, but never overshadows the grain - capturing the terroir and unique flavor of Islay barley.
The aroma is unmistakable with hot, sweet porridge, while delicate, cookie notes of malted barley are complemented by earthy peaty smoke. While smoldering peat lingers, creamy porridge and grain notes of Islay barley are balanced with buttery cream, honeycomb, and a hint of vanilla.
Bottles are filled at an alcohol content of 61.4%.
