Description

Octomore 14.3 from the Bruichladdich distillery is a testament to the extraordinary effort to achieve flavour when combining very heavy peat with the variable local harvest from its island home.

The Islay barley used in Octomore 14.3, grown just 2 miles from the distillery on Octomore Farm, delivers a grain-forward single malt - celebrating the profound influence of a natural, raw ingredient and the renaissance of the farming community that grew it.

Head Distiller Adam Hannett has masterfully extracted flavour from Islay barley in this high-quality single malt. Aged in a combination of first-fill American whiskey barrels and second-fill wine barrels, the oak influences but never overpowers the grain - capturing the terroir and unique flavor of the Islay barley.

There's an unmistakable aroma of hot, sweet porridge on the nose , with subtle, biscuity notes of malted barley complemented by earthy peat smoke. While the smouldering peat lingers, the creamy mashy and cereal notes of the Islay barley are balanced by buttery cream, honeycomb and a hint of vanilla.

Bottled at 61,4 % alcohol.

A new product has appeared on the Slovak market that is not afraid to go against the grain. Jon Rye Wanted is a brand new whiskey from St.Nicolaus Group a.s. that does not try to compete with Scottish or Irish legends with their history and myths. Instead of endless stories about pedigree and old barrels, it brings something bolder – a pure taste and a rebellious attitude. How did it actually…
