Gordon & Macphail Mortlach Distillery Labels 25 Year Old

This 25-year-old edition of Gordon & MacPhail Mortlach is part of the Distillery Labels series, which captures the individual character of each distillery. Mortlach, known as “The Beast of Dufftown,” is one of the most respected names in the Speyside region.

The whisky matured for approximately 25 years in sherry casks and was bottled at 46 % ABV, without chill filtration.

On the nose, it reveals rich notes of orange marmalade, liquorice, pears, with underlying tones of caramel, candle wax, and a hint of beeswax.

The palate shows a pronounced oily texture with flavours of black pepper, nutmeg, creamy caramel, notes of cigar tobacco, coffee grounds, and a touch of fennel or mint. The finish is long, with a spicy echo and a hint of orange peel.
