Gordon & Macphail Discovery Auchroisk 10 Year Old

This 10-year-old edition comes from the Auchroisk distillery, selected by the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail for the Discovery range. The series is designed to clearly showcase the main flavour styles - in this case, the Sherry Style, representing rich, fruity and gently spiced notes typical of sherry cask maturation.

The whisky matured for roughly 10 years in a combination of first-fill and refill sherry casks, giving it a pronounced character of dark fruit, sweet oak and subtle spice.

On the nose, it opens with aromas of dried raisins, plums, caramel, a touch of cocoa powder and a hint of apple peel.

The palate reveals chocolate, dried fruit, honey notes, gentle spice and sultanas, supported by a smooth texture and a light nutty nuance.

The finish is medium to long, with sweet sherry tones, delicate spice and a soft oak conclusion.
