Gordon & Macphail Discovery Glenrothers Sherry 11 Year Old

This 11-year-old edition comes from the Glenrothes distillery, known for its rich, fruity and smoothly rounded style. Independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail included it in the Discovery range, designed to clearly and playfully present three main whisky flavour styles – in this case, the Sherry Style.

The whisky matured for approximately 11 years in carefully selected sherry casks, which imparted depth of sweet oak, dried fruits and gentle spice. This maturation highlights the natural fruitiness of Glenrothes spirit while adding warmth and elegant character.

On the nose, dominant notes include plums, dried raisins, fig jam, caramel and delicate honey, along with touches of cocoa powder and cinnamon.

The palate is rich, creamy and sweet – chocolate, dried fruits, caramel pudding, raisins, nuts, gentle spice and a hint of orange peel. The base is formed by smooth, sweet oak.

The finish is medium to long, with tones of sherry sweetness, cocoa, spice and soft wood, lingering pleasantly after each sip.

This expression is ideal for fans of sweet and fruity Speyside whiskies, especially those who enjoy pronounced sherry influence without excessive heaviness.
