Gordon & Macphail Craigellachie Distillery Labels 2007
Add a tasting glass and elevate your experience to the next level!
This edition comes from the Craigellachie distillery, known for its robust, oily, and strong distillation style. Independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail selected the vintage 2007 and allowed the whisky to mature in carefully chosen ex-sherry casks, which highlighted its typical depth, structure, and fruity character.
The whisky is bottled at natural cask strength – 64.5% ABV, without chill filtration and in its natural color. This high alcohol content preserves all layers of its distillate and cask profile, making it an exceptionally full and authentic experience.
The nose reveals notes of ripe apples, peach syrup, honeyed malt, citrus peel, toasted oak, and gentle spices. The typical “meaty” trace of Craigellachie is present here only very subtly, harmoniously complemented by sweet fruit and vanilla notes.
The palate is pronounced, oily rich, and intense – ripe tropical fruit, honeyed apples, caramelized pears, citrus marmalade, ginger, white pepper, and oak structure. Later, notes of buttery caramel, raisins, and a gentle whiff of smoke from toasted wood emerge.
The finish is long, warming, and full, with a combination of spices, sweet oak, dried fruits, citrus, and oily depth, typical of Craigellachie.
This expression is ideal for lovers of bold Speyside whisky, who appreciate fullness, strength, and a complex fruity-spicy structure.
