Arran Quarter Cask is a distinctive Scotch single malt whisky that showcases the significant impact of cask type on the final flavor profile. It is produced at the distillery in the town of Lochranza on the Isle of Arran, known for its pristine nature and ideal conditions for producing Island whisky.
The aging process consists of 7 years in bourbon casks, followed by an additional 2 years of maturation in 125-liter American oak casks (Quarter Casks). The smaller cask size intensifies the contact between the distillate and the wood, resulting in a whisky with a more pronounced structure, richer aroma, and fuller flavor.
The flavor is dominated by notes of tropical fruit, spiced vanilla, caramel, and subtle oak spice, leading to a long, warming finish. The whisky is non-chill filtered and has a completely natural color, preserving its authentic character and natural fullness.
Arran Quarter Cask is an excellent choice for lovers of more pronounced single malt whiskies who seek an intense yet balanced profile and want to experience the strength of maturation in smaller casks. It is suitable for slow sipping as well as a representative gift for connoisseurs of Scotch whisky.
