Arran Quarter Cask is a bold Scotch single malt whisky that clearly demonstrates the significant impact of cask type on the final flavour profile. It is produced at the distillery in the village of Lochranza on the Isle of Arran, renowned for its pristine nature and ideal conditions for producing Island whisky.
The maturation begins with 7 years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a further 2 years of finishing in 125-litre American oak Quarter Casks. The smaller cask size intensifies the interaction between the spirit and the wood, resulting in a richer structure, enhanced aromas, and a fuller flavour.
The palate is dominated by tropical fruit notes, spiced vanilla, caramel, and gentle oak spice, leading into a long, warming finish. The whisky is non-chill filtered and has a completely natural colour, preserving its authentic character and natural depth.
