Arran Sauternes Cask Finish
This Arran Sauternes Cask Finish whisky comes from the independent Arran distillery on the Isle of Arran in Scotland, founded in 1995. Production takes place first in traditional ex-bourbon casks for approximately 6 - 8 years, followed by final maturation (finish) for 8 - 12 months in sweet Sauternes wine casks from Bordeaux. This process places the edition in the Cask Finish series, which has become part of their main whisky portfolio.
The aroma is sweet and floral, with hints of honey, apricot, banana, pear, white grapes and vanilla pastries, enhanced by delicate floral notes. The taste harmoniously combines honey sweetness with warm spices, citrus refreshment (e.g. lemon peel), subtle sea saltiness and spicy notes of ginger. The finish is long, sweet, complemented by orange notes and a balanced touch of spice and soft wood.
This whisky is ideal neat, at room temperature, or with a few drops of water to reveal its complexity of flavors. Thanks to its pleasant sweetness and spicy finish, it goes well with desserts, baked fruit, mild cheeses, or even on its own as an after-dinner treat.
The bottles have an alcohol content of 50 % and a volume of 0,7 l and come in gift tubes.
