Arran Amarone Cask Finish
This exceptional Arran Amarone Cask Finish whisky comes from the Arran distillery on the Isle of Arran in Scotland, which has been operating since 1995. The whisky is first matured in traditional ex-bourbon casks for around 7 - 8 years, followed by final maturation in casks previously used for Amarone, a wine from the Veneto region of Italy. This combination gives the drink an intense red color and a distinctive fruity character.
The aroma is a blend of juicy cherry and plum with hints of spices and chocolate – some notes also suggest a chocolate-orange line, roasted almonds and cranberries. The taste reveals dark chocolate tones, sour cherries, Turkish candies, stewed fruit, caramel, and even warming cinnamon and dried apricots.
It is best enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a few drops of water to bring out the layers of aromatic complexity. It pairs well with dark chocolate, dried fruit, or mature cheeses, which beautifully complement its fruity and spicy profile.
The bottles come in elegant gift tubes.
