Ledaig Sinclair Series Rioja Cask
Add a tasting glass and elevate your experience to the next level!
Sinclair Series is a tribute to the founder of the Ledaig brand - John Sinclair and includes several delicious whiskies handcrafted at the Tobermory distillery. This Ledaig Rioja Finish is the first release of this series.
In 1797, John Sinclair, an innovative seaweed merchant, applied for a lease on land known as Ledaig - pronounced "letch-ick" - meaning "safe harbor." After his initial application was rejected, Sinclair persevered, remained true to his original vision, and a year later the distillery was established.
Despite a colorful history marked by closures, financial troubles, and even a name change, today Tobermory is a thriving, distinctive, and unique distillery that stays true to its idyllic location on the Scottish Isle of Mull.
Inspired by a Spanish galleon that sank near the port of Tobermory over 400 years ago. It is believed to have been laden with jewels, which is why the smoky brand Ledaig was finished in hand-selected Rioja casks in honor of the Spanish treasure buried deep off the coast.
This single malt whisky, made from heavily peated barley, is matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in hand-selected Spanish Rioja casks, featuring strong flavors of smoke, spice, grapes, and sweet berries with a long-lasting salty finish.
The color is vibrant, reminiscent of deep red Rioja, giving it a beautiful radiant hue. Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 46.3% with a volume of 0.7 l and are delivered in stylish gift cartons.
